Who you are dealing with

These terms apply when you book anything with us. Using the website itself asks nothing of you.

Enquiries are not bookings

Sending a form or a message starts a conversation. Nothing is confirmed, and nothing is owed, until we have written back and agreed the details with you.

Prices

We do not publish a price list, because what a piece costs depends on the garment, the fabric and how much painting it takes. We confirm the price with you in writing before any work begins. You will never receive a bill for something you did not agree to first.

Commissions

A commission runs in this order: you tell us the idea, Madhvi comes back with a concept and a price, and painting starts once you have said yes to both.

A deposit is payable before painting begins. We will tell you the amount when we confirm the price. Because each piece is painted for one person and cannot be sold to anyone else, the deposit is not refundable once work has started.

Every piece is painted by hand, so no two are ever identical, and small variations in line, colour and placement are part of the work rather than faults in it. Hand-painted colour can also shift slightly between the screen you are looking at and the fabric in front of you.

If a finished piece is genuinely not what we agreed, tell us and we will put it right.

Workshops and classes

Places are confirmed once we have written back to you and payment has been made.

Workshop and class fees are not refundable. Please book on that basis. Sessions are small by design, so a place held for you is a place nobody else could take. If something genuinely unavoidable comes up, tell us as early as you can and we will do what we reasonably can, but we cannot promise a refund.

If we have to cancel a session ourselves, you get the full fee back or a place on another date, whichever you prefer.

Children are welcome. A parent or guardian must make the booking, and should tell us about any allergy or condition we ought to know about.

Hiring the studio

Dates are held once we have agreed them with you in writing. Please leave the space roughly as you found it. You are responsible for damage caused by your group beyond ordinary wear, and for anything your guests bring in and leave behind.

Photographs of our work

Madhvi photographs the pieces she makes, and we use those photographs to show people what the studio does, here and on social media. Commissioning a piece does not stop us doing that.

We will not publish your name, your message to us, or anything else personal alongside a photograph. If you would rather a particular piece stayed off the internet, say so when you commission it and we will keep it off.

Photographs taken at the studio

We take photographs during workshops and sometimes use them on this website and on social media. If you are in one and would rather not be, write to us and we will take it down. No explanation needed. The same goes for a child in a photograph, on a parent or guardian’s word.

What is ours

The designs, photographs, writing and artwork on this website belong to MG’s Craftvilla. Please do not copy them or reproduce the motifs commercially. Sharing a link, or a photograph of a piece you own, is always welcome.

Where we can help, and where we cannot

We are one artist and a small studio. We do our honest best on every piece and every session, and where we get something wrong we will put it right or refund it. Beyond that, our responsibility is limited to what you paid us for the thing that went wrong. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Indian consumer law.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, we will update this page and change the date at the top. The terms that apply to your booking are the ones in force on the day we confirmed it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Faridabad, Haryana have jurisdiction.
